Summary
Life essentially means that you have to live for others. In Ji-eun’s case, she spends most of her life living for her poor neighbors, her mother, and her aunt until she runs into Eui-tae, the older brother of her only friend Eui-ju, at Eui-ju’s funeral while she’s in her third year of high school in winter.
“You must be Yang Ji-eun.”
Despite not being able to hold chopsticks properly and not having a stable job, Ji-eun is scared of him but, still, finds herself being attracted to him over time, which sees her bringing him food and even becoming his tutor. He’s the pathetic man she has ever met and though that’s how her feelings for him started, they gradually turn into something else.
“I like you”
“Ji-eun, you’re the first person ever to tell me you like me.”
Life is simply about survival for Eui-tae, who is someone who believes he is all alone in the world.
