Summary
Joo Incheol believed he was on the fast track to success. As a trusted aide to Lee Myeongseon, a rising political figure and ministerial hopeful, his future seemed secure—until internal rivalries within the campaign began to edge him out.
To prove his worth and regain his footing, Incheol is handed a high-stakes task: defuse a volatile redevelopment dispute in the Jungang district of Songmun City. The project is politically sensitive, publicly unpopular, and practically unsolvable. Incheol knows this assignment could make or break what’s left of his career.
His only real lead? Ahn Pyeonghwa, the reclusive owner of a crumbling gym located smack in the center of the controversy. The catch? Pyeonghwa also happens to be his neighbor—though not one he knows well.
When Incheol approaches him for support, Pyeonghwa agrees to cooperate… on one strange condition:
“Hit me.”
Caught between ambition, confusion, and a neighbor’s mysterious request, Incheol finds himself spiraling into a situation where the rules no longer apply—and the lines between politics, personal motives, and pain begin to blur.
